How to check who is behind an offer

Small details can help you make a more informed decision.

Start with the domain

Read the complete website address, including spelling and the domain ending. A familiar logo or an HTTPS connection alone does not establish that a page is operated by a particular brand.

Find the organizer

Look for a clearly identified promotion organizer and its own terms. A referral website, an advertising publisher and the company fulfilling a promotion can be different parties.

Check the original source

If an offer mentions a retailer or brand, look for the promotion through that organization’s own website or published channels. Do not assume that displaying a name or logo means the brand sponsors it.

Be wary of pressure

A countdown, a message claiming that you have already won, or an urgent demand to pay deserves a second look. Take time to verify the offer independently.

Choose whether to continue

You do not need to proceed simply because you clicked an advertisement. If you cannot identify the organizer or understand the conditions, stop before submitting anything.

These pages provide general information. They do not establish eligibility for a promotion, create a rewards account or guarantee a benefit. The independent provider’s current terms govern any offer.
